Why I wrote the Arizona books

From a young age, my parents instilled a deep love for traveling in me. They always believed that exploring new destinations
was one of life’s greatest joys.

My mother, in particular, turned each trip into an exciting adventure by making it a fun and engaging challenge to discover and
visit new places. Whether we were embarking on a family vacation or a spontaneous weekend getaway, her enthusiasm for finding hidden gems and unique spots transformed every journey into a memorable experience.

This passion for travel and exploration, nurtured by my parents, has greatly influenced my own adventurous spirit
and love for discovering new locations around the world.

My Story

I was born and raised in Denmark. As a family we traveled all over Europe every year. My mother would always have a full travel itinerary of things to see and experience. Over the years I came to appreciate learning about the places we visited.

When I moved to Arizona my mother was excited to come visit to see all the sights, the rich history and the amazing nature of Arizona. Every year for more than 10 years my mother and stepdad would come here, and I would always have a list of things do and places to visit.

In 2022 my mother was diagnosed with kidney failure and had one kidney removed. Later that year they discovered that she had a aggressive cancer. I when back to Denmark in May of 2023 and stay with her till the end. While there we would reminisce about all the places we had seen in Arizona. My mother knew that I had written down notes of all the place. She suggested that I took those notes and created a guidebook so that others could enjoy the benefit of the notes I had taken.

Here we are, little more than a year later and I have finished the “Southern Arizona 101” and “Stay Arizona 101” books. They are available as an eBook and as a printed spiral bound book. I am going to update the books yearly to make sure all the information is up to date the most current.

I am currently working on “Central Arizona 101” and “Northern Arizona 101” as well as a “Tidbit and Insights Arizona 101” books. They should all be ready for public by no later than beginning of November 2024.
